Interior design trends for 2026 focus on bold statements and rich tones
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Interior design trends for 2026 emphasize bold statements with rich jewel tones and mixed patterns, according to local designers.
Stacie Caffey and Emily Myers from Revival Living Interiors identified five key trends for the year: blue colors, silver accents, monograms, pattern-on-pattern designs and dark wood tones.
The designers said many of the trending elements are classic designs making a comeback rather than entirely new concepts.
“What we’re loving is that a lot of the things we’re talking about are classic designs that are just resurging,” Caffey said.
Blue returns as timeless choice
Blue leads the color trends for 2026, according to the designers.
“Blue is back and it’s still very timeless and classic,” Myers said. “Blue works great if you pair it with neutral items or natural elements.”
Myers pointed to chinoiserie patterns as an example of blue’s enduring appeal, noting the design “has been around forever and it’s not going anywhere.”
Silver accents mix with existing metals
After years of gold and brass dominating home fixtures and hardware, silver accents are gaining popularity as complementary elements.
“We’re loving adding in some silver,” Myers said. “So like a catch-all tray or a frame or just some accessories to kind of mix those metals in your home.”
Monograms offer personal touch
Personalized monograms are resurging as homeowners seek to individualize mass-produced items.
Caffey said the trend reflects consumers wanting “a more laid back, cozy, lived in space, and kind of stepping away from that sterile feel.”
The designers recommend monogrammed linen napkins, hand towels and pillows as ways to add personal touches.
Dark wood creates lived-in atmosphere
Dark wood tones are returning to complement the desire for relaxed, comfortable spaces.
“Dark wood captures that laid back, lived in feel,” Caffey said. “While we still love our white oak, we love seeing some of the darker woods come back in decor and furniture.”
The designers recommend pairing dark wood with lighter items to prevent spaces from feeling too heavy.
Pattern mixing adds visual interest
The final trend involves layering multiple patterns throughout a space.
“Using multiple patterns to layer up with wallpaper, fabrics and upholstery; florals, plaids, geometrics — just using all the elements in your space instead of just one distinct pattern,” Myers said.
