I’ll admit it: I have a habit of going overboard with Christmas gifts. I end up buying friends and family a bunch of fun little things…that they never really use. So this year, I’m getting everyone one really good gift that’s also practical.

One of my first stops will definitely be Insta-famous product designer Gustaf Westman’s Brooklyn pop-up, which will run from Thursday, October 10, to Sunday, October 13, at 25 Fillmore Place. Take my curvy sideboard: It has my typical style but it’s sold to all types of homes (eclectic and colorful spaces as well as more luxe places). I hope more big companies join in and let their guard down a bit; it would be fun to see!

Three ways I’d bring the look home:

  • Books everywhere! Put them in unexpected places, like in a pile on a chair.
  • Lots of colorful blankets as bedding. I love this one from Svenskt Tenn (a Swedish classic), and it feels like…
